Lusitano Thoroughbred Horses breeding
The horse breeding at Casa de Calhariz is one of the Lusitano Thoroughbred Horses breeding, having a mare herd of four animals which are descendants of carefully selected horses, chosen in order to keep the purity and the characteristics of Lusitano Thoroughbred horses. They present a natural aptitude for the High Equestrian School and high wires exercises, since they position their back legs underneath the lump quite easily. Therefore, Lusitano Horses reveal themselves not only in bull-fighting and classical horseback riding championships, but also in some federate equestrian disciplines such as dressage, obstacles, coupling and, especially, working equitation, with titles already awarded.
